This map tracks where communist front organizations convened between 1945 and 1991. See analysis for interpretations of the map. See organizations for introductions to the fronts listed.

To begin: Expand the map by clicking here. Then click on the grey arrow in the upper left to open the Navigation Bar.

Lighten/darken by clicking on the “Base Map” icon three to the right of   "Layers."


Add geographic markers by scrolling from "Base Map" down to “Label” and “Borders,” and toggling the eyes open.

View data:
1. return to “Layers.”

2. click on the data set title directly beneath “Layers.”
3. click on the spreadsheet icon just left of the trash can.

Add a timeline:
1. click on the “Filters” icon.

2. scroll down and click “Add Filter.”
3. in the “Select a field” box, select “Date-0.”

Exit the 3-D view by clicking on the cube-shaped icon in the upper right.
