International Union of Students (IUS): Founded a year later than WFDY, in Prague in August 1946, the International Union of Students was known as the more worldly and pluralist of the two. It, too, saw Western student unions depart in the late 1940s, culminating in the founding of an International Student Conference (ISC), again with help from Western intelligence agencies, in December 1950.
